Today is World Hepatitis Day

Today is World Hepatitis Day, which every July 28th brings the world together under a single theme to raise awareness of the global burden of viral hepatitis and to influence real change.

Viral hepatitis caused 1.34 million deaths in 2015 – a figure close to the number of TB deaths and exceeding deaths linked to HIV.

Critical progress has been made towards making break-through medicine affordable and available that can treat Hepatitis C throughout the world with extremely high cure rates.
