THE ABBOT ID NOW COVID-19 ASSAY IS A NUCLEIC ACID AMPLIFICATION TEST (NAAT) THAT USES TRANSCRIPTION MEDIATED AMPLIFICATION TO PROVIDE ACCURATE IDENTIFICATION OF COVID-19 RNA. THE FDA HAS GRANTED EMERGENCY USE AUTHORIZATION (EUA) FOR THE USE OF THIS TEST. A POSITIVE RESULT INDICATES THE DETECTION OF NUCLEIC ACID FROM THE RELEVANT VIRUS. NUCLEIC ACID MAY PERSIST EVEN AFTER THE VIRUS IS NO LONGER VIABLE. FOR TRAVEL PURPOSES, THE PATIENT MUST CONTACT THE AIRLINE AND DESTINATION FOR GUIDANCE ON CURRENT REQUIREMENTS. WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THE RESULTS OF THIS TEST WILL BE ACCEPTED BY ANY AIRLINE OR ANY GOVERNMENT JURISDICTION.
