We are following NY state guidelines related to recent travel.- https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/covid-19-travel-advisory
Asymptomatic travelers entering New York from another country, U.S. state, or territory are no longer required to test or quarantine as of April 10, 2021.
REMINDER: If you are high risk or symptomatic, you will be subject to a virtual appointment and we encourage you to book an appointment for COVID Testing to rule out COVID-19 (need to return to work or school, want to visit relatives but want to rule out to have COVID as an asymptomatic carrier, need for travel).
*If you have been fully vaccinated (2+ weeks from 2nd dose, or the single Johnson & Johnson dose then the travel guidelines do not apply and you can be seen in the office at any point.
Note: Medical Offices of Manhattan do not test or treat anyone under 18 years of age; This includes all COVID Tests. We also do not perform any Rapid RT-PCR COVID Testing.
Please note – we have been provided feedback that for certain travel a PCR test result is required within 72 hours. The PCR swab that we send to the lab comes back in 1-2 business days. Please check any travel requirements prior to scheduling to avoid any confusion.
2/23- As the New York metro area starts to open up safely, and people begin to plan to attend various live events like sports and concerts, in most cases a PCR covid test is required within 72 hours.

- Trouble breathing
- Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
- New confusion
- Inability to wake or stay awake
- Bluish lips or face
**This list is not all possible symptoms. Please call your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning to you.**
Call 911 or call ahead to your local emergency facility: Notify the operator that you are seeking care for someone who has or may have COVID-19.
COVID RT-PCR Swab Test
- Purpose: Present infection
- Method: Swab
- Result in: 1-2 days
- Test: Hologic, Roche
- Cost: Covered by most health insurances or self-pay fee of $100
- FDA Emergency Use Authorization
*Consultation is covered by most major insurance providers
The COVID RT-PCR Test detects the genetic material of the virus using a lab technique called polymerase chain reaction (PCR). This test can also be called a PCR test. A health care worker will collect fluid from a nasal swab. You will be able to see results in three to five days if sent to an outside lab. The FDA approved certain COVID-19 at-home test kits, available only with doctor approval. The sample is then mailed to a lab for testing. We highly recommend consumers against buying unapproved home tests. This may be inaccurate and unsafe.
You should get COVID RT-PCR Test if you:
- Think you may have COVID-19, but there is no rush to get results.
- No need for immediate results. Willing to wait 1-2 days.
- Would potentially like insurance to cover the test.
