5 Reasons Why Drugs May Not Help You Lose Weight

People who are overweight or obese may now have a chance at a healthy weight thanks to new GLP-1 medications. Taking 2.4 mg of semaglutide weekly for 68 weeks resulted in a “clinically significant” weight reduction for 86.2% of the 800 participants in a clinical study conducted in 2021.

These results are encouraging, but they also indicate that 13.8% of participants did not have a clinically meaningful reduction in body fat.

The evidence shows it’s more probable for a person to react, but doctors say it’s crucial for patients to recognize they might fall into either group. Patients may be classified as non-responders for a variety of reasons; in some cases, more than one component is involved.
