A bone density test is done using a sophisticated kind of X-ray technology that measures the strength of bone in your hip and spine. The bone density scan will reveal if you are at high risk for osteoporosis or broken bones.
Once your risk level is determined, your provider will work with you on a prevention or treatment plan.
