Dr. Joseph You is a cardiologist dedicated to helping patients prevent and manage heart disease through education, prevention, and collaborative personalized care. He completed his undergraduate studies at Emory University. He earned his medical degree at SUNY Downstate Medical School, completed his internal medicine residency at Northshore University Hospital Hospital and fellowship training in cardiovascular medicine at Morristown Medical Center where he was the chief cardiology fellow.
He holds multiple board certifications including in internal medicine, adult echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and peripheral vascular imaging. He specializes in the diagnosis and management of a wide spectrum of conditions including hypertension, coronary artery disease, atherosclerosis, cholesterol, valve disease, arrhythmias/palpitations, and genetic heart diseases. His research focus has been in lipidology/cholesterol management, COVID-19 complications, and heart arrhythmias, particularly during pregnancy.
Dr. You ultimately chose cardiology because cardiovascular disease remains one of the most common and most intimidating diagnoses for patients. He is passionate about helping patients shift from fear to empowerment through early risk identification, prevention, and education.
He takes a collaborative approach to care, working closely with patients to understand and serve their goals and develop realistic strategies for long-term heart health. Dr. You speaks both English and Korean.
