“Bug bite” can mean both stings and bites from many different types of creatures, such as spiders, mosquitoes, and bugs. The National Center for Biotechnology<\/a> says it’s hard to say how common it is because most bites aren’t serious and aren’t reported. However, the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology says that between 1.6% and 5.1% of people in the US have life-threatening allergic reactions to insect stings, and that stings cause 72 deaths every year in the US.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
